About the Book

Mannar is a special place because of its ancient history and geographic features, the copper sands of the first landing at Tamrapami; a great port city. Mantai, now buried under the silt, rivers and tanks mentioned in the chronicles which have their own mystery; archaeological ruins everywhere testing to multicultural visitors – kovils, temples, churches, tombs from the past, even ponies, donkeys and trees like the Baobab of foreign origin.
